A mix of "affordability" and "glamour" is the aim for the new Frankie's Bar & Grill restaurant owned by celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White and champion jockey Frankie Dettori.
Frankie's Bar & Grill is part of Sanguine Hospitality's £5.5m redevelopment of the former Kings Gap Court Hotel, in Hoylake Wirral, which also has a Holiday Inn Express hotel.
The aim is to offer traditional Italian food in a relaxed environment - it is the first Frankie's venue in the UK outside London; the others are in Knightsbridge and Stamford Bridge.
White who handed back his three Michelin stars in 1999, told Harpers: "I don't like small portions. The customers who dine here will be paying £25-30 per head, I want them to walk out thinking they have had great value for money
"I'm a great believer in is creating something that's firstly affordable, but that also has an element of glamour.
"If a mother wants to bring her children for a weekend lunch, or mum or dad for Mother's or Father's day, they can do it and know it wont hurt their pocket.
"The key is to have a menu that ticks the boxes for what everyone wants."
White was attending an organised ticket customer event at the venue which recently opened.
