High profile panellists from the on and off-trade will join a host of suppliers and retailers at Harpers Wine and Spirit's 2012 Champagne Summit, taking place on February 28 at London's Chiswell street Dining Rooms.

Pommery has just come on board as a Summit partner, and will have its own tasting table at the event.

Meanwhile Keith Isaac MW, general manager of Patriarche Wine Agencies, will present a vertical tasting of four De Castelnau vintage champagnes and the effects of disgorgement dates on the wines' evolution, on the Champagne de Castelnau stand at intervals throughout the day.

Two special tastings hosted by the Moet & Chandon ambassador, Stanislas Rocoffort de Vinniere, who will showcase the 2002, 1995, 1992, 1990 and 1975 from the Chandon Grand Vintage collection, will take place on the Moet & Chandon stand at 11.45am and 4pm.

A panel made up from Zuma's Kelvin McCabe, Oxford Wine Company founder Ted Sandbach and Planet of the Grapes' Matt O'Connor, will reveal their findings from the recent Harpers' buying trip to the northern French region.

A Q & A debate session with representatives from the Summit's partners Champagne De Castelnau, Laurent-Perrier, Moet & Chandon and Taittinger.

Guest speakers include: Essi Avellan of Fine Champagne Magazine, CGA Strategy's Alex Martin and Dee Blackstock MW of Waitrose, who will all be giving their take on this years' theme "How can Champagne help the trade through the tough times?"

The 2012 edition of the event will host interactive wine tasting and master classes, with the Harpers Champagne awards at the foot of the agenda.
