Black Sheep Brewery launches seasonal beer

Published:  09 February, 2012

The Black Sheep Brewery has launched the second of its limited edition seasonal beers, All Creatures.

The beer has been specifically brewed for customers to enjoy throughout the spring months and will be available from March to May.

It will be launched on February 29, at The Queens in Burley, Wharfedale by Christopher Timothy, who played James Herriot in the tv series of All Creatures Great and Small, from which the name is derived.

As part of the Brewery's 20th anniversary celebrations, five pence from each pint sold will be donated to Herriot Hospice Homecare.

At 3.5% abv, it is a light Yorkshire pale ale brewed with a blend of whole hops that includes Goldings, Fuggles and Bramling Cross, which aims to give the beer a lively hoppy kick.

Jo Theakston, marketing director for the Black Sheep Brewery, said: "All Creatures is a great limited edition beer to launch under our seasonal range.

"We've tried to encapsulate everything about spring into the beer, from the design of the pumpclip to the fresh hoppy flavours.

"It is brewed in the same meticulous way as our core range, using the finest ingredients and our Yorkshire Square fermenting system, and we have had some fun with the hop mix by using Bramling Cross - so it will provide a fantastic beer with great character."
