Lower-alcohol wines for Blue Nun

Published:  13 January, 2012

Blue Nun has entered the lower alcohol wine market with the launch of a sub-brand called Delicate.

The 5.5% abv wines come in four styles: Crisp Fruity White, Crisp Fruity Rosé, Sparkling White and Sparkling Red.

The still wines have an rrp of £3.99, and the sparkling wines £5.99.

Producer FW Langguth said: "The new Blue Nun Delicate range provides the opportunity for those consumers craving a different style of drink under the guarantee of a highly recognisable and trusted international brand." It described the launch as a "natural step" for the company, which it said was associated with lighter wine styles.

Working with UK import partners, Bottle Green Ltd and Halewood International with its wine division Chalié Richards, the Blue Nun Delicate launch will be backed by a national marketing, PR activity and a digital campaign.
