Havana Club launches tourist guide to Cuba app

Published:  10 January, 2012

Havana Club, has launched a new Cuban tourist iPhone app - 'Havana Club's Guide to Havana' - an insiders' guide to its essential bars, clubs, restaurants and cultural destinations.

Available to download for free from the iTunes store, the app flags each location on an easy-to-navigate map and highlights locations that embody the unique and inspiring attitude of Havana - humanity, spontaneity and creativity.

Each destination within the map-based app has been visited and reviewed by former travel editor Gareth Scurlock of The Times to provide users with a current and independent view of the city.

The app's features also include '48 hours in Havana' aimed at 150,000 UK tourists who visit Cuba each year, but do not necessarily stay in Havana for their entire trip.

Patrick Venning, head of marketing, Pernod Ricard UK, says: "As the authentic Cuban rum still produced in the capital Havana, we're proud to be able to showcase some of Cuba's must-see locations, particularly to new audiences here in the UK.

"We hope that our 'Guide to Havana' gives people the knowledge to really make the most of their trip and experience a taste of Cuba and all the passion and heritage it has to offer."
