This week is the final chance to have your say as part of the Harpers Wine & Spirit consultation with independent wine merchants to see what points of principle they would like to see suppliers follow when serving the independent sector.

This week is the final chance to have your say as part of the Harpers Wine & Spirit consultation with independent wine merchants to see what points of principle they would like to see suppliers follow when serving the independent sector.

The consultation is also open to suppliers to the independent trade and both sets of results will be used to determine what steps need to be taken next and whether a set of guidelines for the independent sector need to be established.

At Harpers inaugural Indies' Supplier debate, held on September 12 at London's Soho Hotel, merchants and suppliers agreed that Harpers, as an independent voice, should consult its database of merchants to see if the appetite exists to create a code of practice or a set of guidelines.

Questions cover whether suppliers should make their channel strategies public, or give details of where wines are available on request and whether they need to inform retailers when wines change distribution channels.

Please tick agree or disagree next to each of the bullet points and if there are other areas you would like to see discussed, then please add them in the comments field at the end of the questionnaire.

The consultation closes on Monday October 24.
