BERINGER BLASS BUYS T'GALLANT

Beringer Blass Wine Estates has bought T'Gallant Winemakers, the ultra-premium cool-climate producer of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, for an undisclosed price. T'Gallant will broaden our premium regional wine offering, providing us with our first Pinot Gris and our first offering from the increasingly popular Mornington Peninsula,' said Jamie Odell, managing director, trade, Asia Pacific, at Beringer Blass. Kathleen Quealy and Kevin McCarthy, the husband-and-wife team who established T'Gallant in 1990, will continue as winemakers. Jeanjean buys Regal French wine company Jeanjean has paid E3.8 million for family firm Regal, based in Parnac. Regal, which is strong in Bergerac, posted sales of E17 million in 2002.
